Beetle Battle Paddle
Beetle Battle Paddle is an annual "float down the Chestatee"
benefit event to help save the eastern and Carolina hemlocks, hosted jointly by Lumpkin Coalition and
Appalachian Outfitters on a Saturday each spring. Boat rentals
(canoes and kayaks) and shuttle services are offered for a self-guided trip on
the lower section of the Chestatee River, with 100% of the proceeds going to the
hemlock tree defense efforts. This is a fun opportunity for families and
individuals who like spending time on a beautiful North Georgia river and a
wonderful way to give while having a great time.
Below is the announcement for the 2008 Beetle Battle Paddle, which was held on
March 29. When the date for next year's Paddle is set, it
will be posted here. So stay tuned.
